Special Event Parking

For certain events, it is likely that one or more parking lots may be preempted, especially home Football and Men's Basketball games, Kansas Relays, or Commencement.

For these and other special events, signs will be posted at the entrance to the affected parking lots at least two (2) days, notifying you of the date(s) and time(s) of the restriction. Vehicles will be ticketed and may be towed, if they remain in the parking lot after the restriction begins.

Planning an Event?

In general, we do not close parking lots during regular work hours, 8-5, Monday through Friday. However, if you are planning an event for which you'd like to close a parking lot, please follow these steps:

  1. Discuss event and parking needs with Dave Moore, the field supervisor.
  2. Get event approved by University Events Committee.
  3. Work with Dave Moore for signage and enforcement.
