Permits

Faculty and Staff may choose from the permits listed below, but note that not all faculty or staff members will be eligible for all options. Individuals may only posses one valid permit at a time, but may chose to switch to a different permit from year to year.  It is usually possible to switch permit types during the school year as well, should the need arise. Permits should be ordered online through the parking eBusiness portal.

All faculty and staff are eligible to purchase a Red permit, which allows a vehicle to park in any red, yellow, park and ride, or housing lot (with the exception of Alumni Place parking by the Scholarship Halls and Jayhawker Towers).

$343 / year

In order to be eligible for a Blue permit, an employee's age and years of service at the University must add up to a minimum of 62. A Blue permit allows a vehicle to park in any Blue, Red, Yellow, or Housing lot (with the exception of Alumni Place parking by the Scholarship Halls and Jayhawker Towers). If an employee is eligible for a Blue permit, the option should automatically become available in the online permit ordering service.

$385 / year

In order to be eligible for a Gold permit, an employee's age and years of service at the University must add up to a minimum of 70, and the employee's office must be located on the central core of campus. A Gold permit allows a vehicle to park in any Gold lot, or in any Blue, Red, Yellow, or Housing lot (with the exception of Alumni Place parking by the Scholarship Halls).

Gold permit eligibility is not automatically assigned; employees interested in purchasing a Gold permit must contact the office to determine whether or not the option can be made available to them.

$517 / year

Garage permits are available to Faculty and Staff in Red, Blue, or Gold, with all employees being eligible for a Garage Red and the same qualifications applying as those listed above to be eligible for a Blue or Gold.

Garage permits may park in their designated parking facility (Allen Fieldhouse Garage OR Mississippi St. Garage), as well as in surface lots that match the color of the permit, excluding those surface lots that are located in close proximity to the designated garage. (This means that Allen Fieldhouse Garage Permits are not allowed in lots 6, 7, 8, 17, 35, 54, 70, 71, or 72, and Mississippi St. Garage Permits are not allowed in lots 16, 39, 53, 91, 92, or 94.)

Garage permits are only valid in their specified facility, and will not work at the opposite garage from the designated one.

Permit Type Annual Price
Garage Red $427
Garage Blue $469
Garage Gold $601

All faculty and staff are eligible to purchase a Staff Yellow permit, which allows a vehicle to park in any of the yellow lots on campus. Parking in some yellow lots is very limited, and vehicles with a Staff Yellow permit would be competing with commuter students to find available parking. However, if you are arriving at work before 8 a.m., you will probably find a parking space in your preferred lot, and large lots such as 57, 59, 90, and 94 generally have open stalls at any time of day.

$274 / year

Park & Ride permits are valid in lot 301 near 23rd & Iowa, with access to campus via route 41 (Yellow Circulator).

$200 / year

Information about Occasional Parking coming soon.
