Visitor Parking


Access to central campus is restricted from 7:45 to 5:00 Monday through Friday while school is in session, and 8:00 to 2:00 Monday through Friday during the summer and at all other times. There are a very limited number of metered spaces scattered throughout the parking lots on the central core of campus.

500 visitor spaces are available in the Mississippi Street Garage directly north of the Kansas Union accessible from Mississippi Street and Oread Avenue. Another 250 visitor spaces are available in the Allen Fieldhouse Garage at 1501 Irving Hill Road, directly north of Allen Field House.

Parking in both facilities is $1.50 per hour, or any portion thereof.

A limited number of long term meters are available in lot 90, south of Robinson Gymnasium, and in lot 19, west of the Burge Union. The long term meters are $1.50 per hour. In addition, there are 50 long term meters in the Park & Ride parking lots, which cost $.50 per hour.

Daily Visitor Permits

If you are spending more than an hour or two on campus, and/or are visiting offices in a building that is not near the two parking garages, you may be able to purchase a one-day visitor parking permit. These permits cost $10/day, and are available in the Parking & Transit office in the Allen Fieldhouse Garage.
