Parking & Transit, a Division of Campus Operations

9. Bicycle Parking

Regulations have been updated to FY19, effective August 1, 2018. Current regulations are still available in PDF form.

Cycling is a popular means of transportation at KU, and all bicycles must operate according to city, state, and federal laws on the university campus. Cycling rules may be enforced by police or Facilities Services, not just Parking & Transit staff.

9.1 Bicycles must park at designated bike racks, and may not be chained to railings, light poles, meters, etc. Bicycles that are not in designated bike racks may be removed by Facilities Services without notice.

9.2 Bike Share bicycles must also park at or next to designated bicycle parking spaces. Session will not end, and charges will continue to accumulate when bike share bicycle is not in designated parking.
