It is unfortunate, but sometimes people try to get better parking on campus by using their deceased great-aunt's placard from another state to park. What this means for those of you who have your own valid placard is that we require you to register the placard in our office. Registration can be handled in person or by mail. You will need to provide the following:
- Placard Registration Receipt
- KU Card
- Driver's License
Once we have verified that the placard belongs to you, Parking & Transit will register your placard on your existing parking permit, or sell you the ADA permit (a digital permission connected to your license plate) for your vehicle. Vehicles that display unregistered placards will receive a citation.

Beginning August 1, 2013, all cars on campus require paid parking permits, including those parked in accessible spaces. Please send email to firstname.lastname@example.org if you have questions about this change.
