Parking & Transit, a Division of Campus Operations

Summer Camp Parking

Numerous summer camps take place on campus during the summer months. Most lots on campus are restricted Monday-Friday, so unless camp organizers made special arrangements to reserve a lot or provide permits, parents or guardians should choose one of the following options if they need to drop off or pick up campers or watch a game, presentation, concert, etc.

University Housing Lots

During the summer months, all Housing lots (designated for residence halls) are open for free parking and can be utilized by anyone at any time with no permit required. (Please note that there are Red stalls designated by signs within many of these Housing lots, and these Red stalls are still restricted from 7 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday.) Housing lots include lots 101, 103, 104, and 105 on Daisy Hill (just off Engel Road), lots 112 and 113 by Oliver, Cora Downs, and McCarthy Hall (18th and Naismith), lots 72, 109, and 110 by Jayhawker Towers (15th and Burdick), lot 111 by GSP and Corbin Hall (11th and Louisiana), or lots 100, 107, 120, 122, and 124 in the Scholarship Hall neighborhoods east of Oread Ave (See the parking map to locate lots).

Parking Garages

There are two parking garages located on campus: the Allen Fieldhouse Parking Garage and the Mississippi St Parking Garage. These garages are gated 24/7, and anyone can park in them at any time by paying an hourly toll.  The toll is paid upon exit, ($1.75 for the first hour and $1.50 for any additional hours or portion of an hour), and can be paid at the exit gate with a Visa or Mastercard or with cash at a Pay Station (located in the level-3 lobby of the Allen Fieldhouse garage or level-4 stairwell of the Mississippi St garage). There are intercom buttons located at each garage entrance and exit should visitors require assistance at any time.

Metered parking is available in several lots including lots 70 and 90 near Allen Fieldhouse and Murphy Hall. Long-term meters (for 1 or more hours) can be paid either with coin or by using Parkmobile on a phone or smartphone; meters enabled for Parkmobile are labeled with instructional information.  The hourly rate for meters and Parkmobile is $1.50, and there is a $.35 fee charged with each Parkmobile transaction.

One-Day Permits

Visitors wishing to park in any Yellow lot (see map) may purchase a one-day permit for $16 or a half-day permit for $8. These permits are available in our office, located at 1501 Irving Hill Road (attached the the Allen Fieldhouse parking garage) between 7:30 AM and 5 PM Monday-Thursday or 7:30 AM-4:30 PM Friday.

If you have additional questions about summer camp parking options, please contact or call (785)864-7275.
